Since 1902 CARUCCI has been located in Via di Ripetta, one of the most ancient streets in Rome, laid out during the Papacy of Leone x, by Raffaello Sanzio and by Antonio Sangallo, the Younger. It's a family business and now we are at the fourth generation since the founder Enrico Carucci, master-saddler at the schoolof S. Michele a Ripa, opened this artisan workshop falling on the birth of his first son Mario, the father of the actual owner who is helped by her daughter Paola. We have the satisfaction and the honour to have as customers the descendents of our first ones and to have been having business with some suppliers for more than ninety years, such as for example "Francesco Maglia" from Milan, that existing since 1854 is one of the most ancient umbrellas' manufactories, exporting very high quality italian goods.
In 1999 This family business has been included in the project by Roma's Municipalty called "URBS MIRABILIS" which has as purpose to discover and supporting the most ancient commercial activities in Roma.
In the same year it appears in the book "ROMA I NEGOZI DELLA TRADIZIONE" (Traditional shops in Rome) BY Lino Cascioli with the introducing essay by Mario Sanfilippo, publishing firm "IL PARNASO" a prestigious publication joining some of the most important traditional shops in Roma.
